SEO Article Content Writing Rules in 2013

Many webmasters are wondering in the beginning of the year whether their site is up to the 2013 requirements of search engines. The truth is that we are in the middle of a process when everything is moving towards a better user experience. Therefore, SEO article content has a higher importance than ever before. Find out the general rules of writing and submitting SEO posts and building links in the new year and make a fresh start, even if your site has fallen back in results in 2012.
Relevance
One of the most important aspects of links is relevance. Therefore, buying Facebook likes from general profiles will not work anymore. When submitting articles, press releases and posts, you always have to manually select the most important category and choose the best keywords based on your niche and content. This is something many people miss out on. If you do social media bookmarking, it is important to have an account opened for every niche you are in with the right messages, attracting people interested in that topic.
Uniqueness
Being unique has always been an important aspect of gaining traction on the marketplace and in search engines. SEO articles need to be written from scratch; there is no way around it. Even if you are convinced that it is possible to create readable spun content, this has to be done manually. Re-using and rewriting articles and human editing is OK, but software work less and less these days. Checking CopyScape when you order SEO article content from companies is a must, and plagiarized posts can make your site disappear from search results very fast.
Social Media Traction
Your social media links have been measured by search engines to determine your SERP for years, however, they will have a higher contribution towards high ranking in 2013. Creating relevant Facebook pages and getting people to share the content on your site is a good way to get genuine links that stick on the net. Buying followers and subscribers is not working any more, no matter how much internet marketing gurus want to sell you their automation software or service.
Diversity of Content
Apart from articles, you will now have to focus more on different ways of distributing information. Getting videos online, as well as downloadable PDF files, broadcast channels and audios is a good way to go. Press releases continue to be effective ways of building links and getting the SEO content republished on multiple platforms.
Diversity of Links
Some SEO experts would tell you to buy high page rank links and your site will fly high in search engines. However, this is not the case anymore. You will need to collect diverse backlinks; from social media sites, news pages and video sites, as well as small niche blogs, article directories and authority sites. The combination of links would tell search engines that your message is relevant to all readers in your niche. Squidoo and HubPages, as well as free blog networks links will add value to your SEO projects in 2013.

Know Search Engine Optimization

If you are considering building a website you most likely have heard that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a pivotal part of your strategy. It is essential for improving website visibility, increasing your traffic and overall way search engines view your website. SEO is the ongoing process of improving visibility and ranking of a website or specific web page in the organic search engine results presented by major search engines.
You might think that SEO is the all-knowing answer and can produce major results in a few days, or even a few months, like web page design or coding. Search engines utilize a complex algorithm which determines the results for any given search term, word or phrase. The actual algorithm is known to exist but unknown by anyone but those folks at the search engine.
The Elements - The steady insertion of meta tags and page titles of web pages used to have a huge impact on search results, and were considered the mainstay of SEO about 10 years ago. These SEO components are still important today - but the algorithms used by search engines continually change to adapt to a constantly evolving internet. Meta tags, page titles, and search friendly Unit Resource Locator (URLs) are a major part of on-site SEO.
Page Titles - Page titles are found at the very top of a browser, and depending upon the version they can also be read in the window label or tab of an open web page. Another way to find out the title of a web page is to put it in your bookmarks. It is important to title all web pages consistently, using the key terms that you want visitors to find your site with, and should match the key terms found in your written website content as well.
Meta Tags and Meta Descriptions - Meta tags are done in the html code side of the website at the head of the page, although it's easier and generally done with a Content Management System (CMS). These Meta tags alert the search engine as to which terms on that particular web page are the most important. Meta tags for picked keywords are only good if they are reinforced by also being within the web page content. Search engines look for significance in ranking your pages and this is one of the basic methods of demonstrating relevance.
Valuable, Worthwhile Content - Strategies like filling up your web site pages with fluff and clichés may be the good for TV commercials but is not so useful for search engine or human consumption. Useful, original, well-written content is more valuable as a component of a web page and websites as a whole.
Off-Site SEO and how it Works - The biggest difference between on-site SEO and Off-site SEO is that the other can be completely coordinated by you and the latter cannot. However, there are well-defined approaches and techniques in Offsite SEO that can maximize the opportunity for online success. Mostly the success of any offsite technique is driven by the quality of the content, whether it is an article, press release blog post, video etc.
Two-way Links and Link Exchange - Search engines use this to control the ranking of a website in search results which is heavily gauged by how many legitimate inbound links a website has. Quality relationships with relative content website owners is key here where you can connect and build links between the sites generating to the search engine the relationship of the content.
Deep Links - Deep links are one-way inbound links from websites with relative quality content, with one small but extremely important difference. Deep links are connected to an inner content page within your website, rather than the homepage, landing page, or other front page of a website, which is much more common.
Is There A Faster Way - Performing your due diligence and continually working on your website may be tedious at first, as well may take a while depending on the subject matter. But the continual work on SEO will provide a solid website to the search engines as well survive any changes to the search engine algorithm which may come down the road.
There are alternatives to use, but SEO is the best strategy for your website. Hope this article helped you know more about SEO.

10 Easy Tips to Survive Post Panda and Penguin Google Updates

Pandas and Penguins are usually cute and lovely animals. Yet when Google used those words to name its algorithm updates, they have become the worst nightmares for many online and eCommerce business owners worldwide.
Driving traffic to your website is crucial to succeed and prosper in the current internet era. Getting to first page of Google through appropriate SEO strategies is vital too. However, because SEO practices have become so creative in a way that manipulates Google, the latter has created the Panda and Penguin algorithm updates that discern good and bad practices and discredit and even penalize sites that have been using spammy ways to appear on first page of Google for specific keywords.
Moreover, Google is more able now to recognize high quality backlinks versus low quality ones. For instance, if you were using low quality duplicate or spun articles to syndicate your articles to over 100 low quality articles directories with backlinks pointing to your site, then don't expect to benefit from that anymore. Yet, quality article directories like EzineArticles that value content and originality are surely to benefit your business and help you build up your brand.
The following tips will help you survive post Google Panda and Penguin updates:
1. Don't expect to get link juice from footer links or backlinks from spammy or penalized websites. Make sure to remove such low quality backlinks to your site whenever possible.
2. Try to build up natural backlincks from pertinent niche sites with unique and varied anchor text but all related in a way or another.
3. It is highly advised to avoid keyword stuffing and over density keywords in your web page contents.
4. Make sure to build high quality content in your website and avoid duplicate, irrelevant or low quality content with grammatical errors.
5. Work adequately all your pages, as one bad page can negatively affect the whole site.
6. It is advised to build consistent quality content on your site or blog.
7. Pages from your website like Contact us, Privacy Policy and Write for us have no value of ranking for specific keywords, so make sure to give them a no-index and delete relevant links from Google Search Results.
8. Your website needs to have a fast loading and your navigation needs to be user friendly.
9. Fix all the broken links within your site.
10. Try not to build too many backlinks from anywhere to your site. Backlinks should be built up slowly and from good quality sites that relate to your niche..

How to Improve Search Engine Rankings In 2012 and Drive More Traffic to Your Site

There are many ways to improve the visibility and search engine rankings of your website. The more methods you can take advantage of, the better off you will be. So, here are some things to consider.
Branding
It's important to make your website and your company stand out and to make it memorable. Therefore, you need to work on branding. Develop an eye-catching logo, then start spreading the word about your brand. Some of the ways to do that include:
- Utilize search engine optimization on each of your website's pages.
- Network with other leaders in your industry and related industries.
- Use social medial websites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to market your services.
- Develop a unique and memorable business approach.
Search engine optimization is a wonderful thing and it can take your new brand far. However, you should also be aware that there is now more emphasis being put on supplying excellent content on web pages. So, be sure that you use search engine optimization on your pages, but also take the time to provide content that will be useful to your customers. After all, having people visit your page won't do you any good unless they get to know and trust your company.
Marketing
When you are marketing, or spreading the word about your business, you need to do so with a good game plan. Some steps that you may want to take beyond just the use of keywords and search engine optimization include:
- Write meta tags to improve search engine optimization.
- Write blogs and new social media posts on a regular basis in order to keep customers interested.
- Utilize videos, slide shows and e-books to keep guests interested and coming back.
- Cross-promote across multiple social media sites.
- Trade links with other people in your industry.
Engage With Others
One of the keys to improving your search engine rankings and developing a larger online following for your business is to engage with others. That could be your potential clients or other people in your industry, who may help to get you more clients later on.
Engaging with others involves commenting on their blogs and social media posts. It may also involve sending e-mails to them about the latest industry news or news relating to your company, specifically.
Google+
If you already use Facebook and Twitter, don't stop there. You should also make sure to use Google+. In fact, Google has recently introduced the Google +1 button. You can install it on your website. Anyone who clicks on it can automatically improve your Google search engine ranking. The more +1 clicks you have, the better your Google ranking will be.
Improve The Visitor Experience
Google is capable of tracking how long visitors stay on your site and how relevant the site is to the terms for which is optimized. So, be sure to improve the visitor experience by making your website easy to navigate and relative to what people are searching for.

Search Engine Optimisation and Google+

Google+ can help boost your SEO by adding credibility to your links and posts, optimising your images and videos, improving the relevance of searches made by your connections, and increasing your ranking via the +1 button.
When you set up your Google+ page, you should follow the SEO basics you'd use for setting up a webpage or social media profile: use keywords, meta descriptions, page titles and links to optimise your G+ page and link it to your website, landing pages and other content you own, such as blog posts.
Certain G+ pages are signed up to the Direct Connect service which allows users to search for them using Google by adding a plus sign in front of a brand name, for example +Pepsi or +YouTube. So far this is only available to a small selection of brand names, but Google has announced plans to roll the service out to a wider group of companies in the future. By making sure your Google+ page is well connected and regularly used, you can give your company the best chance of eligibility for the Direct Connect service in the future.
Making connections by adding other pages and users into your circles, starting hangouts, commenting on other relevant posts and +1ing content can all help you to grow your audience and following. Remember that Google+ is a social media platform after all - by engaging with targeted followers, you are not only boosting your search engine optimisation but also increasing your social influence.
The +1 button can be added to blog posts, and website landing pages - it also appears in search pages next to results. The link between the number of +1s a page has received and its ranking in search results is not entirely straightforward, and much work has been done to avoid spammers and unethical SEO users abusing this feature.
The more +1s a page or link has, the more likely it is to be shared, and in turn, will receive higher rankings. The +1 algorithm is both social and search-related, which is why becoming active on Google+ is more important than just flooding it with spammy links.
The +1 button works to promote word-of-mouth interaction too, by flagging up links that your friends have 'validated' by +1ing in your own results using Search Plus Your World. If you're not signed in to your Google account, users will still be shown the number of +1s a page has, which can influence click-through-rate also.
Google+ can be really beneficial to your social media marketing and search engine optimisation efforts by increasing search rankings as well as boosting your social reach.

Six Great SEO Tips For 2012 and Beyond

Search engine optimisation is constantly changing with each new technology, and it is important to keep your techniques updated. This article will give you some new methods of keeping your site known to search engines and relevant to customers.
1. Use the optimal keywords. Keywords have always been an important part of SEO but now there are databases you can use to help you find the best words and phrases to use. Google AdWords Keyword Tool, for example, is a tool you can use to find out what people are searching for. Simply plugin a keyword you are considering using and the service will respond by displaying a list similar keywords and the number of searches for each. You might use the keyword "automotive parts" at first, but using AdWords or a similar service can show you a better choice. If you find out that it is better to separate the two words, or that for every search for "automotive parts" there are ten searches for "car parts." Now that these types of tools are available, you can see what people are searching for and, by tweaking our keywords, become more relevant to those searches.
2. Concentrate on "On Page" SEO. "On Page" SEO simply means adjusting your website to be easily searchable. One part of this is using content that a search engine can see and understand. If some of your content is in a format such as .PDF, the search engine cannot see the text that is written there and, since it doesn't know what your page is about, it will not send related traffic your way. If you are planning or are already using a format that is seldom used then it would be wise to check into whether or not it is SEO comparable. Put some research into On Page SEO so that you can learn all the different tactics; meta tags, title tags, keyword use, and linking are all things you can adjust easily on your website to make it more searchable.
3. Use mobile SEO. Presenting your website to mobile devices has been tough in the past, but with the advancements in tablet and cell phone technology is making it easier. By making your website compatible with these devices, you can invite even more traffic your way. Use small file sizes, avoid using Adobe Flash, and use the .jpg format for any pictures you use. A little time spent researching and implementing techniques for mobile SEO can pay off.
4. Try video SEO. You may have noticed that when you search for certain things on Google, videos or pictures are among listings at the top of the page. By using video SEO correctly, you can sneak to the top of the page among the video thumbnails. Video SEO simply refers to the techniques used to make sure Google finds, indexes, and returns keyword searches with your video. Once you have a video on your page, create a "video site map" and submit it to Google so they know where your videos are and what they contain. Also use a Google-friendly format, which includes .wmv, .mpg, and others. Using titles and tags in your video's coding helps as well; the key to naming and describing your video is to, unlike website keywords, use longer specific phrases. For example, instead of using the simple title "back flip", use something with more description, such as "guy does back flip off of boat into water".
5. Make sure your site loads quickly. Although this is a factor in ranking for most search engines, a higher load time won't affect your rank much, unless the wait is extreme or the search engine can't load and index your website. Find a happy medium between a short load time and great content.
6. Update your site often. This is particularly important if you are just starting an online business. Continually posting new content to your site can help strengthen your chances of keeping your spot in search results. The more fresh and relevant your content is, the higher your rank. Trying new SEO techniques can make sure your website keeps a high-ranking instead of sliding down with each change the search engines make to their algorithms. While it's impossible to be updated all the time, the tips listed in this article should get you closer to that goal.

How to Recover From Over Optimization

Currently throughout the world, a huge argument is being conducted that pertains to search engine optimization. It refers to negative SEO which brings about a horrifying change globally. This latest and famous occurrence is created by Google's Penguin update. They found that several well-known websites face a horrific dilemma. They set themselves on top of Google search list just 3 months ago but however they discovered themselves moved out to the 6-10 pages seven days ago. It's a horrible jolt for those sites.
Now the question rises what is the reason behind this incident? If we deeply observe those sites we will find that they are involved with link building which is an illegal business. They spread spammed links with some other sites. They make an effort to produce awful back linking within their sites and that's why they are in the first page of Google.
Matt Cutts, a spam engineer of Google mentioned that they have tried to clear out those nasty links and supply appropriate ranking. Because there are many established websites those are really worthy of their high quality information. But irony of fate is that those are not available on the front page. So they are making an effort to improve their system for those helpful sites.
Let's discuss about over optimization. Maximum sites try to get more visitors. If they receive higher rate of visitors although their content quality and SEO ranking is poor, when Google compare them with stability sheet and they become over optimized. But a lot of sites are infected by SEO hackers and become displaced. For this reason, web engineers identify the problem and published how to prevent over optimization in their blogs. The procedure is easy but needs time and tactical steps.
The recovery systems for the sites those are facing over optimization problem are...
· Webmaster tools by Google
· Social sharing
· Search engines vs humans
· Site accessibility and structure
· Quality content
· Links
Short descriptions of those are stated below:
The quality of the content depends on the style, distribution and arrangement of the idea. It prefers the perfect idea, proper expression of it and also the better form. Like, the site must be arranged in such a way that will be not only easily understandable by the visitor but also informative. Appropriate answers must be provided for enhancing the content quality.
Link building should have legitimate function. Obtaining links from spamming sites can be hazardous. Anchor and key terms must be maintained to prevent spamming. Ensure availability of those links.
For sharing, you must use well known social media sites such as Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, Inbound.org, and Stumble Upon etc. In Facebook, only tag those people who are related to the subject, for tweet or retweet only owner circle should be used and Google+ update methods can also be helpful.
Site map is essential to get an overview idea of the site and it's also important to prevent it from being hacked. It must be built in such a way that only human beings are allowed to access it, not the robots.
Webmaster tools by Google should be used for searching necessary items for the topics.
It should be arranged in a way that would be suitable for human to find out their desired content easily. It must contain appropriate keywords for easy searching.
So as a website owner, you should be honest, must not make any spam and should give the priority for human so that they can get useful information.

Five Steps You Can Take to Build Powerful Inbound Links

Not long ago, getting links to your site, and lots of them, was an important step in optimizing your site for search engine traffic. Not so true anymore. While it is true that as Dharmesh Shah stated "links make the internet world go around", not all links have the same value. Since links are so important it makes sense that Google would provide incentives for links that help it deliver the most meaningful results. There are basically three kinds of links: outbound links, inbound links, and internal links. Let's discuss outbound and inbound links.
Outbound links send visitors away from your web site. Outbound linking helps you build good will with other site owners, who may eventually return the favor and provide an inbound link to your site. Attitudes towards outbound links differ significantly among site owners. Some site owners link freely. Others don't link at all, and some provide links that open in a new browser window. Owners that don't link state that outbound linking takes visitors away from the site. This can cost the site owner time and money from site visitors. Others argue that providing high quality links enhances the value of a site and increases the chance of return visitors.
Inbound links are important because they indicate to Google's site crawlers that your site is an authority on a given subject. It goes without saying that the more quality inbound links you have to your site, the higher the place in a Google search your site will have.
There are several strategies that you can pursue to build inbound links. Here are 5 of them.
1. Submit Your Site to Online Directories - This is SEO 101. Inbound links from website directories don't have a great deal of authority, but they're easy to establish. Simply submit your website to the directories, particularly the free ones, and you will quick start your link building efforts. It is one of the few link building activities you control.
2. Build Relationships - Relationship building takes time, but it's a useful way to keep your business and your site on the minds of people who might be interested in linking to you. Make a list of businesses and sites in your industry that are authoritative and relevant. Then start building relationships with them. Follow and tweet with them on Twitter. Show them some respect by linking to their site. They may be inclined to link back to you. Reciprocal relationships are a wonderful thing in link building.
3. Submit News Releases - News releases are a terrific way to get the word out about your company, but did you know they have great SEO benefits as well? Every time your release gets distributed by a wire service and syndicated on a website an inbound link is created. Better still is when a website picks up the news you're promoting on their site, generating an even more valuable inbound link. Most news release distribution services charge for their services so you may want to look for a free one that you can leverage.
4. Content Creation - This is another method you have control over. Use your ability to create outstanding content that others will want to link to. Sometimes this exercise is referred to as "link bait". Link bait is defined as content expressly created with the goal of encouraging others to link to the website. If your content has value to your reader, then eventually a site will want to link to it. Content that typically generates great links are the types that get shared a lot. An example may be an essay outlining original data and research, or content about controversial topics. A blog is the ideal platform for this content.
5. Leveraging Partnerships - Partnerships are a great way to generate inbound links. Generally, partner with someone who sells products or services that aren't competing with your own, but are complementary to your business. Leverage those associations in your link building efforts. You link to them. They to you. Everybody's happy, happy, happy!

Why Your Business Needs a Content Marketing Strategy

Content marketing is more than just a popular buzzword in the Internet marketing industry. The concept of content marketing underscores a powerful technique to promote a business on the Internet. By creating great content (such as a video, article, or infographic) and marketing that content (via Facebook, Google+, or StumbleUpon,) your business can take advantage of many opportunities to connect with potential customers.
The methods behind content marketing offer limitless channels to exploit your ideas. In short, you can create content in various forms and distribute it many different ways. And just a limitless as the channels to market your content are the potential benefits for your business.
All types of companies can improve their marketing efforts by producing and sharing awesome content. In fact, marketing software provider Kapost has found through its research that per dollar, content marketing contributes to three times more leads that tradition online advertising, such as paid search. For this reason, creating a content marketing strategy can be a momentous game-changer for your business.
Although content marketing offers a ton of advantages (some of which are nearly impossible to track,) there are three major benefits that your business can realize:
  • Build Brand Awareness
  • Inbound Traffic to Your Site
  • Generate Natural Link Popularity for SEO
Building Brand Awareness
As the foundation to marketing your content on the web, building brand awareness is further enhanced when the audience is engaged. This audience engagement is what fuels respect for your brand and bolsters a potential relationship. As a result, the quality and relevancy of your content is paramount. Any content you publish is a reflection of your business and its brand, so you'll want to be creative and use the right context that relates to your target audience.
Some of the highest levels of audience engagement derive from visually-based content. Videos are a powerful medium to communicate to a potentially massive audience. And by optimizing videos for better search engine exposure (also known as search engine optimization or "SEO"), the overall marketing potential skyrockets. Also effective in the visual content category are images, infographics, cartoons and comics. Exercise your creativity and produce a compelling form of content that can help build awareness in your brand.
Inbounding Traffic to Your Site
The cornerstone of content marketing is to inbound traffic to your site. Marketing your content is a very powerful way to promote your niche or unique selling proposition. As long as you present the right calls to action, the individuals that interact with your content will be more apt to visit your website.
This form of traffic is unique because of the prior interaction that users experience with your content. The best ways to inbound quality traffic to your site is use your content to inform and educate your target audience. Addressing relevant issues, questions, and concerns is a good way to achieve this. For example, a criminal defense attorney may benefit from publishing an article about 'what to do when faced with DUI charges.' Any traffic coming from that article could very well be a highly qualified lead for the attorney's legal services.
Generating Natural Link Popularity for SEO
When content goes viral, it tends to attract a lot of social attention. People usually link to popular content (link popularity,) and as a result, the content can earn a high level of authority. From a SEO standpoint, if a webpage has a high level of authority, then the outbound links coming from that page will be more powerful. This concept of SEO (commonly referred to as "link bait") is one of the many effective approaches of content marketing.
Think of your wonderful piece of content as a link bait for your SEO efforts. In almost any form of content, whether a video, article, or graphic, you can typically include a link that directs back to your site. For instance, graphics and videos will usually always have supportive text or an author attribution. Here you can include a bit about who you are, as well as a link back to your website. If your content generates a lot of buzz and people start linking to it, the SEO value of your content will only become more powerful.
Developing Your Strategy
Putting together a successful content marketing strategy will depend on the resources you have on hand. You'll want to determine which types of content are going to be the most relevant and effective to connect to your target audience. Additionally, you'll also want to pinpoint the ideal publishing platforms and social media sites to market and promote your content. All strategies for marketing content are unique, so you'll need to get creative as to how you approach the strategy for your business.

Traffic Generation - Article Marketing And Forum Marketing

What do you know about getting website traffic? Is it something that is hard to do for you, or are you proficient with it? Most people online struggle to get a lot of traffic to their website, when getting traffic is as easy as pie. In today's lesson, I want to share with you some tips that you can use to get traffic to your website simply and easily.
Now some of the strategies that I will mention are things that you have probably heard of before. But maybe they didn't work fast enough for you, or maybe you got a lot of traffic but no sales from your advertising. No matter what the situation is, you should know that you can make things work and get lots of targeted traffic to your website simply and easily.
Here's the first tip that I would like to show you when it comes to getting more traffic to your website simply and easily:
1) Article marketing
I love article marketing. It's a great way to build brand recognition in your niche, and is a great way to get traffic also. There are a lot of article directories on the internet, but you will stand to benefit from the top 3 article directories on the internet. They will bring you the majority of your traffic.
When doing article marketing, you will want to write high quality articles. Keep your articles over 500+ words, and be sure to submit your articles on a daily basis. You have to look at it as your job. You have to put in the work to see the results that you are looking for.
There are some people online who have written over 10,000 articles. And guess what? This STILL isn't enough. I read online that the University of Phoenix Online had over 250,000 articles on their website. Now compare this number to a measly 500 articles. Can you see the chasm here?
Here's another way to get traffic to your website:
2) Forum marketing
I'm very active in the forums online. I make my forum posts, answer questions people have, respond to my email messages, and build relationships with people. It's a great way to meet people, to help people, and to get traffic in return for your marketing efforts. I think you should do the same thing also.
Do a simple Google search and look for forums in your niche. You will more than likely find a ton of them. Join a few of these forums and participate. Leave your website information to the signature section of your forum posts. If a forum doesn't allow for links in the signature area of your posts... don't join it.
These 2 traffic strategies work incredibly well. I still use both till this day and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Both can allow you to be perceived as an expert in your niche, and it's something that you can earn a lot of money from. Trust me, I would know.
Good luck with using these 2 traffic tips to earn more money online.

How Can A Free Link Directory Help Your Business

When a business is trying to communicate with their current customers and potential customers online, you want the link to your website to be visible in as many appropriate locations as possible. A free link directory provides a great platform for users to see your link before your competitors who do not use this tool of advertising.
Free business directory provides one location for internet users to search for business listings in specific categories. There are free listings of any business on this directory who wants their link displayed. A business who wants special placement can request a featured link on the site.
Since you can place your link on the free link directory without paying for the general listings of links make sure you do not miss out on the opportunity. You do not want your competitors taking the time to place their links on free link directories and you not be listed. The competitors would be getting some of your potential customers possibly due to their visibility on the platform.
After all the user of the directory will be typing in topics they want to search for experts on or service providers so they will be more apt to take action than someone just seeing an ad somewhere out of context. When these searchers want to spend money on a product or service, you want to be in front of their face on the screen listed on the free link directory.
Just think how many potential customers are slipping through your fingers every day that you are not listed in free advertising on the internet. The problem with social media free marketing is that the viewers are there to socialize and not necessarily do business or think about buying items. By displaying your link on a free business directory you are targeting the decision making/purchase seeking potential customer.
Time is a valuable commodity that web users try to save. By searching for a specific type of business on a site like a free link directory, the user gets multiple companies links in one location who perform the same service or sell the same products. This saves the user time and the advertiser time and money to connect with the future customer.
Word of mouth will also occur when the user sees a link, takes action, and gets good customer service. The customer will tell their friends about the business they found on the free link directory. This will bring more business to the advertiser and more users to the directory. This cycle will continue for years as long as quality customer service is provided by the directory and the advertisers.
Save your advertising budget, save the time of placing links in low impacting locations on the web. Come to your future business customers instead of waiting for them to come to you. Post your business link for free on a free link directory. You will be surprised how much of an increase you will find in the traffic to your site and purchases for your service.
Build a solid foundation for your business through free link directory. Xeetec is a reliable and free business directory portal that helps your website to increase your SERP.

How to Get More Web Site Traffic Using Only Free Methods

While there are many ways to jump start a websites traffic intake, some webmasters simply don't have the necessary resources to take action like some of the big guys. But luckily, there are a few ways to get increased web site traffic for free! You won't have to spend any of your hard earned money, yet you will be able to generate as much website traffic as you want. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Well it is! However, to make that dream a reality, you will have to motivate yourself to work harder and get more done.
Some people will tell you that paying for advertising is a lot more effective than using free methods. Well, that is often an opinion and NOT a fact. The truth is that free traffic techniques can be just as effective, if not more effective than paid methods. It really boils down to how you utilize your knowledge, as well as how well you know your target audience.
If you're trying to get a person to your website, yet you don't have a single clue about their wants or needs, you will fail. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, you will fail. Therefore, whether you take the paid or the free route, you won't get any traffic if you don't know what you're doing.
Free Method Number 1
Find some online forums and online communities and then sign-up for a free membership. Forums and online communities are an excellent source of traffic because each one will usually fit a certain demographic; thereby allowing you to narrow down your target forums. For instance, if you have a website or product that is related to anti-virus software, you wouldn't join a gardening forum, would you? Of course not. You would find software and/or PC security related forums and start posting there. As you can see, it all about finding a niche forum for your chosen niche.Don't get ahead of yourself and just start posting willy-nilly; you'll get nowhere fast. Instead, take your time, familiarize yourself with the forum, and then target an area of the forum you want to start in; usually a sub-forum. Discuss the topic at hand, give your opinion, offer advice, and just be interested in the topic; which shouldn't be too hard.
After awhile, people will start recognizing you and they will be eager to hear what you have to say; as long as you speak intelligently of course. Spend enough time in a forum and your reputation as an expert is bound to increase. Also, always have a signature attached to your posts. You never know who might be looking. Remember, every little bit helps.
Free Method Number 2
Another great, yet marginal, method is link exchanging and directory submission. Some people think directory submission is not worth the hassle, while other internet marketers believe this to be a great technique. It really depends on the directories you submit to and how many of them you actually submit to. Some of them have higher PR (page rank) than others, so each person's results will vary. However, no one can deny the fact that having their link on a PR8+ website is a wonderful thing. On the flip side, link exchanging involves you contacting webmasters with a niche website similar to yours and then requesting a link exchange from them. They put your link on their website, and you put theirs on your site. You both get a one way link and you may even get a little bit of traffic out of the deal. It's really not a bad method, but it should still be used in moderation.
Although directory submission is very much alive, many people consider webmaster-to-webmaster link exchanges to be dead. Whether that is actually true or not remains to be unseen. But the odds are good that a few webmasters are still doing it somewhere.
Free Method Number 3
Perhaps the greatest free traffic method ever is article marketing. Article marketing is free, simple, and undeniably powerful. Getting increased web site traffic is truly a breeze with a keyword rich, well distributed article.Articles are usually quick & to the point, which is exactly the type of information the average websurfer craves. Most people don't want to read a 20 page report about a topic, let alone a 3000 word article. Instead, they would rather read a short, yet informative article that tells them everything they need to know. This is exactly where you come in, as you will write the small informative article, provide the reader with the necessary information, and then offer even more information or a great deal in return for reading your article. If they like the article, they will be thrilled with your offer and they'll click on the link in your resource box, which will then lead them to your web site.
The vital pieces of a good article are: keywords, unique content, great title, wide distribution, and an outstanding resource box. If you can put all those pieces together to create one article, you will get more web site traffic than you can imagine.

Free Method Number 4
Having great, unique web site content is the biggest rival to article marketing, as it too can be an EXTREMELY effective method of generating traffic. This method is a lot like article marketing too; you must use highly searched (low competition) keywords, you need to have unique content, and you have to provide the visitor with information and keep them interested at the same time. The only difference here is that the content will be only your web site and not on an article directory.Search engines scour the internet for websites with updated, unique content and then they add those sites to their listings. When a person does a search for a specific keyword, the most relevant websites are displayed. Therefore, your goal is to turn your site into one of those "most relevant" websites. If you can do that, generating free traffic hits won't be a problem.
Start using the 4 free methods above and you will have increased web site traffic within just a few weeks, guaranteed!

The Advantage Of Using Link Directories For SEO

Do you know that much about SEO? Do you understand that the more links you get back to your site will mean the better your site will look in the eyes of the search engines? What most people don't understand about SEO (search engine optimization) is that the amount of links don't matter, the quality of the links do. With that in mind it is not a natural process to only get links from article directories, blog comments, forum posts, and things like that, you need to mix it up.
What most people don't realize is that mixing up the links that point back to your site will not only make it much stronger but they will also help you get a diverse group of traffic to your site as opposed to just the same people over and over again. In many people's opinion it is best to use link directories to help get your SEO campaign up and running. One of the greatest things surrounding a link directory is they don't take that long to submit to and there are a ton of them that you can use.
Benefits of utilizing link directories for SEO reasons
Fast submissions - The benefit that many people really like is the fact that doing a submission takes just a few seconds. The biggest problem with most link building methods is they take a while to do and that is why link directories are so beneficial to you. What you must understand is that directories are very easy to do but the problem with fast submissions is if you do too many in one day then your site will look spammy and it will possibly get flagged by the search engines. Trust me when I tell you that there has to be a happy medium when it comes to link building.
Easy to understand - One great benefit is they are very simple to understand. Aren't you tired of getting links denied for not having the best spelling, for not putting your title in capitals, for doing something minor that they somehow picked up? This is one thing that will not take place in regards to directories.
Good results - Link directories might not be the best links available right now but the good thing is they still have some power in the online world. What you must understand is a link directory is not going to send you thousands of visitors every month. The link directory is simply there to help you get results through the search engines, not from the directory themselves.
Great start - As I said before, links should be built naturally and over a number of different methods. If you are building links from directories, blog comments, forum posts, and article marketing then you will have a very strong position in the search engines when all the links get picked up.
Just remember that you will have to get out there and see which web link directory will work best to start with. There are lots out there so just know that you will have your hands full with simply submitting to link directories.

SEO Link Building Strategies: Free Link Directories, Do They Still Work For SEO?

SEO Link Building Strategies: Free Link Directories, Do They Still Work For SEO?
Are free directories still a good way of building links to your website? There are hundreds of websites out there that have a high page rank, but are they all going to give you a link for free if you spend time submitting to them? On February 20th I applied to 100 directories manually with all of the necessary data. Where there was an option to leave a reciprocal link on my website, I did, just to see if it would aid the process of getting my link approved.
So after 7 days, I can confirm that most of the work was a waste of time.
Firstly, there are warning signs on sites, where the site says there are 1,600 active links, and 100,000 pending, it's pretty obvious that only paid links would get a look in, or it's a graphic (not a live status) designed to get people to part company with their money to get a link.
Strategy and Warning Signs:
  • Not all directories are unique, it's easy to spot templates that have been re-used. I do have a list on my site of mirrored directories.

  • Even if you get an email confirming the listing, check them by looking for your listing in the website search bar. Some have automated responders after a period of time that are not correct.

  • Pick a category that relates to your niche market.

  • Where the directory is edited by humans, this will have far more value as it's being managed to create quality resource for visitors.

  • Only sign up to directories that have strict guidelines for submissions. You do not want to link to a site that is related to gambling and x-rated material.

  • Check the links to get to your category within the website (not the search bar). If you get a 404 page not found, leave the website as it's of poor quality.

  • Don't expect to get any visitors from a standard directory. You are more likely to receive business and leads from a local directory. There are usually business listings off the back of local newspaper websites.

  • The more links on the category page you are going for, the less value your link will pass to your website.
The other warning signs are that it can take up to 6 months for a review to get a link back on some of the sites. If you think I'm going to wait around for 6 months to find out it is nonsense you'd be wrong!
Depending on your budget, local businesses can get away with adding maybe 6, larger corporations and organisations, a lot more. The reason for carrying out this test was to check if free links worked, they don't. The directories I used do accept payment for links, and will give you them for a small fee. If your website is critical to building or maintaining your business and you're not already at the top of the search engines, put aside $200-$300 to submit to these directories. Standard process of checking what you have submitted to, when you paid, how much you paid, the PR and that the link is live need to be kept in a spreadsheet. These links are for life, it's worth checking them in the in future in case they remove you to maintain their own 'link juice' and PR.
Quicker Submissions:
Go to a directory and you will be given some empty fields to fill in. Set up a word or note document so you can draft some descriptions.
  • Title
  • Description (200 or 500 characters)
  • Meta Description (160 characters)
  • Keywords (pick between 4 and 8 related to what you're trying to rank for)
  • Have an email address that you don't mind getting filled up with email verifications and marketing subscription emails.
When you've filled in your first one and you're happy that it is a good listing, copy and paste into all the other directories the same information to speed up the process.
Please note that this is a fraction of any SEO process. Smaller local businesses stand to gain more from this respectively than any other size of business.

How Social Media Influences and Affect the Search Results

Stereotype search engine optimization processes that have been implemented for over years will get extinct. Search engines algorithms have changed and social media has been a huge part of it. Not only the major search engines like Bing and Google, rather, an increasing number of search engine minows are also incorporating social data into their results. So, this is one of the wonderful news for the new businesses that are trying to achieve visibility in the search engines, but will carve lines of worries for the websites that have been relying heavily on link exchanges, content submissions, blatant social media marketing and advertisements and depending on the old domains. No doubts that these were the SEO trump cards, but with updates pouring in, the webmasters need to adapt the relevant measures to survive in the competitive SEO market.
Recently, Google and Bing admitted that their search results are hugely dependent on the social signals such as Facebook Likes, Tweets and +1s. It goes without saying that social networking websites produce an immense amount of information and real people share data, each day. As many as 30 billion content is shared on the Facebook and 5 billion Tweets are recorded each day and a quarter of these contain links to particular page or content. Owing to this tremendous popularity of the social media platforms, many Internet Marketing companies started rendering social media optimization services to improve the website's visibility.
Towards the end of 2011, Bing, one of the major search engines began to incorporate incorporating Facebook data into its search results. This deduced in results being shown up for pages that a searcher's own friend(s) had liked. And more recently, Bing announced that things popular throughout Facebook not necessarily among your friends, will rank more prominently in the search results. Google also has integrated real-time results in their searches, which means Facebook, Twitter and now Google+ results will appear more prominently above other content. Right social media optimization strategies can get a website in a commendable position in the search engine ranking.
How Social Media Marketing can Influence the Search engine Ranking?
The search engines will be indexing the social media content quickly than they used to. So, publishing new content in social networking websites will have it instantly indexed by search engines. Furthermore, the search engines will rank that content which is relevant to a number of users more prominently. Contents which are continuously shared by people and go viral will be indexed instantly.
Now the million dollar question is what are the measures that are needed to be integrated into Social Media Marketing strategies which will see the ranking surging up? Well, there are two primary aspects to consider and they are:
1. The practice of developing content to embed the key phrases uniformly will just not work anymore. Rather, it needs to have mass appeal which will attract the target audience, and compel them to share. Sharing of content across the site is a high priority and the social media optimization experts need to make this the most necessary thumb rule.
2. Manual link building programs which are considered as one of the vital parts of SEO campaigns might soon start to fade. Thanks to the Google Penguin update which came into the scene on April 24th, 2102. Recommendations and links from real people on social platforms will gain more significance in influencing the search engine rankings.
Google has been taking social networking sites very seriously off late. Google Plus, the social networking channel of Google, has leaped up to 62 million members and it is believed that the membership reach up to 400 million by the end of 2012. With such overwhelming popularity, Google has "Google Search Plus Your World" in the cards, which will give the users the opportunity to derive results that are customized to them by fetching in data which includes user photos, conversations etc from the user's Google Plus accounts in to the Google search results.

Google's Panda Update - Is Your Site Getting Eaten Alive?

Do you focus on SEO as part of your lead generation strategy? The odds are high that with the latest Panda updates from Google, their new algorithms are knocking you down a peg or two...or 10. What the heck is happening here?!
The New Change: A Backlink Builder's Nightmare
While Google reveals only limited information about their methods, what is revealed seems to affect almost every business that's been aggressively using SEO methods to maintain online presence in their market. While the jury is out on just how deep the new algorithms go, one thing is clear: You can no longer build links for the sake of building links! Quality is king now. Again, because this change is so new and it takes time for experts to "successfully" analyze what's going on, this is merely a prematurely proposed solution for your website woes.
The Possible Solution: De-optimization, Are You Crazy?
De-optimization. Why would anybody in their right mind do such a thing? Well, for starters many websites and SEO "gurus" have historically taken advantage of Google's algorithmic weaknesses. That's the goal isn't it? Not anymore.
Due to keyword stuffing and ridiculously useless content geared toward pleasing Google's bots and not site visitors, Google has unleashed this vicious Panda upon our sites.
Here's what you now need to focus on:
Informative & Pertinent Content - write your website's content to reflect what visitors may want to read. If the content is great and related to that site's or page's message, the crucial keywords you need should come naturally. Well, for the most part. Just don't try too hard. Keep your body keywords around 3-5 and don't over-optimize your H1 headers or have multiple H1 headers.
Solid Links from Reputable Sources - this one is easy. Getting backlinks from linkbuildersRus dot com or collegepartypeople dot com is not going to help your law firm, small business IT services company or other non-related business gain any rankings (or clients for that matter).
Although it's still a bit early to put together a solid plan for recovery and redemption, these general guidelines should certainly point you in the right direction. There's really just one thing to focus on above all. Keep things simple. Write content that people, not robots would want to read. Pursue linking to other sites like you'd pursue local partner relationships and you should escape clutches of this crazy Panda. But not before he gets a few nibbles in.

Panda and Penguin Playing Mayhem? Learn How To Be Google's Best Buddy

With Google Panda and now Penguin, whatever next?! Google's algorithm changes seem to cause a huge amount of mayhem amongst Internet marketers every time it happens. And lately, the updates appear to be happening more frequently.
A lot of Internet marketers are complaining about their legitimate sites disappearing off the face of Google overnight, and many others are reporting that everything is fine, or even better with regards to ranking! So what's been happening?. Well, from the emerging thoughts, after the update, there is growing evidence that for the majority things are 'A' ok, but if it's not for you then you can take some action to try and remedy the situation. All of Google's updates occur to wash out the crud from their search results as they need to continue to deliver quality and relevant search results to their users.
This is excellent news for those who build links and know what is needed of them. As the dust start to settle, it is becoming obvious that you still need to have good quality, unique content on your website. And, building links and SEO are not a waste of time as some people seem to believe. If you just work with Google then they can be your best asset. Here's 3 of the emerging thoughts about the Penguin saga:
1) Vary your anchor text.
Do not have your main keyword in every anchor text that you setup, this is a no-no and is likely to raise Google's suspicions. The thoughts of some leading marketers (who have been doing extensive split testing), is that you should probably use your main keyword about 25%-30% of the time in the anchor text, the rest being made up of LSI type keywords and call to action words.
For example, if your keyword is "dog training" you would use that in the anchor text about 25%-30% of the time, the rest of the time rotate the anchor texts, examples of variety may include:
"puppy dog training"
"dog training ideas"
"how to train your dog"
"visit the site"
So you can see the variations, some of the examples don't even have keywords in them like the call to action word "click here". This is a more natural way for linking to occur to a site and is how people general link to other sites.
2) Link variety
It's becoming more and more important to have variety in your link building profile. So just using high PR profile links only will not do. Just using article submissions will not do. You need to use all types of link source out there to vary your link profile. So a little from here and there is the order of the day. Again this is a more natural way links occur in the eyes of Google and it makes sense.
3) Relevant Links
Finally, you need to be getting your links on related topic sites. For example a dog training site, you could get links from a dog animal lovers forum, veterinary site or comment on a blog about animals and pets etc.
It would be very unnatural for say a finance site to link to a dog training website. It wouldn't happen in the real world and this is an important aspect of building links.
So, there you are, Google are just cleaning up their search results and those who play by their rules should be fine and do well. Those link spamming, then they will suffer the wrath of the Big G. Follow these simple steps, keep it natural, keep it safe!

What Is An Alexa Website Ranking?

Alexa Internet, Inc. is a California based subsidiary of Amazon.com, founded in 1996. Its name is a tribute to the Library of Alexandria, drawing a contrast between the globe's largest repository of knowledge in ancient times and the net today. They offer internet search engine and webcrawler services, and also website archiving on behalf of the Internet Archive non-profit organization. (These archives can be accessed through the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine digital time capsule. For people considering different forms of search marketing Alexa can be very useful.
Alexa's ranking system tracks the popularity of internet sites around the world. It bases its ranking schema on the level of traffic each site receives from the number of individuals that check out a site by having the Alexa Toolbar installed. They describe it this way: The traffic rank is based on three months of aggregated historical traffic data from millions of Alexa Toolbar users and is a combined measure of webpage views and users reach. As a first step, Alexa computes the reach and number of web page views for all websites on the World wide web on a daily basis. The main Alexa traffic rank is based upon the geometric mean of these two amounts averaged over time so that the rank of an internet site reflects both the number of individuals who visit that site in addition to the amount of pages on the site viewed by those individuals.
A site's Alexa Rank suggests precisely how popular that site is, based upon the number of site visitors over the last 90 days. This is a top-down rank, with 1 indicating the most preferred address, and greater numbers suggesting less preferred websites. For example, EzineArticles currently has a rank of 131, suggesting there are only 130 websites more prominent than them. At the time of this writing, there are ~ 18 million sites ranked by Alexa.
It ought to be noted that Alexa is able to only collect traffic data from users who have set up the Alexa Toolbar software; because not everybody has or wants this software program, it necessarily follows that Alexa cannot give a complete picture of a site's traffic. They themselves have stated that just the top 100,000 ranks can be considered truly precise; sites rated above 1 million don't obtain enough Alexa-enabled traffic for their positions to be statistically meaningful. This can be demonstrated by setting up the Toolbar, visiting a website with very poor positioning (someplace in the millions), and hitting the browser's refresh button repeatedly - such a website's Alexa positioning would improve considerably within minutes, but that cannot be taken into account an indication of their typical traffic patterns.
Additionally, because the Toolbar collects information pertaining to the websites gone to by individuals and delivers this information "home" to Alexa, lots of vendors such as Symantec and McAfee categorize the Toolbar as adware, spyware, or various other possibly undesirable programs. Not everyone wants this kind of software program on their computer system due to privacy, which restricts Alexa's audience further. For people interested in search marketing there are better tools out there but from a straight popularity standpoint Alexa is very useful.

How New Google Algorithm Will Affect Your SEO and Website's Ranking?

As on 24 April, 2012, Google has said that it will change its algorithm to de-index or decrease the ranking of websites that are using "webspam" or "black hat SEO". It's a very important change in the world of SEO and website rankings. The changes in the Google algorithm will change the rankings of all websites that have used any kind of illegal SEO.
Difference between white hat and black hat SEO Services as per Google
Google has clearly defined white hat and black hat SEO services so that people (as well as internet marketers and SEO companies/individuals) can promote their sites as per rules and regulations.
White hat SEO
White hat is a SEO technique that is used to promote sites effectively using original content. This particular type of SEO technique is very healthy and increases user web experience. According to Google, this type of method is good for both users as well as search engines, and promotes healthy internet marketing.
Black hat SEO
Black hat is opposite of white hat SEO. In webspam, people use shortcuts and loopholes to get higher page rank quickly. With this type of technique, sites get higher ranks in search engines and get a higher PR illegally, and all search engines keep looking for all such websites that use shortcuts for promotions.
What you can do as an internet marketer to keep yourself safe from this change?
All the internet marketers and SEO experts including some SEO companies are worried that how their client's websites would be affected after this big change. Recently we have seen all famous "buildmyrank" shutting down its services due to being caught by Google. Frankly speaking, you cannot do anything at all if you have been using any kind of webspam services. Your website (including your client's websites) will be de-indexed sooner or later. All you need to do is change your SEO techniques as quickly as possible and try promoting your websites with pure white hat SEO services. It is strongly recommended to start promoting your websites and blogs with legal SEO as soon as you can to lower the effect of search engine ranking once Google will de-index your URL.
So the idea is very simple and straightforward, Google will catch you up sooner or later if you have ever used poor SEO. So if you are using shortcuts to promote your website, then you must say goodbye to all webspam techniques before you lose everything you have over the internet.
Increase your web traffic with our SEO services.

"Getting Down" With Google Panda and Search Engine Optimisation

Howdy, there folks. Welcome to another article about search engine optimisation. What we are talking about is this really exciting, outstandingly interesting, very controversial thing called Google Panda.
Let's look at some of the history so we understand the Panda a little more intimately. Panda is also known as "Farmer", and is an update that Google came out with in March, 2011. What it did was rejig a whole bunch of search results and sent a lot of websites down in the page rankings, jettisoned some websites up in the rankings, and people have been worried about the Panda ever since.
Since its birth, Panda has had several updates, new versions have emerged and changes in the Google algorithm have come out of the closet. Like a lot of people you probably have a lot of questions like, "What's this Panda all about and how to I make web friends with it?" What we want to unveil here are some of the principles behind this creature and how Google Panda really changes the way a lot of us need to approach strategize and target our Search Engine Optimisation (S.E.O.)
So let's get out the looking glass and start with a little bit of the history behind Panda. So where did the name come from? Google employed an engineer named Navneet Panda. Seems this guy has done some awesome work with another guy called Bill Slawski. These two guys were part of a patent application that found a great way to use some learning algorithms. Generally, learning algorithms, are very expensive and they take a long time to run. Even more so if you have extremely large data sets, including inputs and of outputs. Before Panda came on the scene at Google, these learning algorithms were at a lower level, and Panda took it to a whole other level.
What Google can now do, due to Panda is, take a whole bunch of websites that people like more and another bunch that people like less. How do they determine this? Well, it's essentially what the quality rater's at Google, yes those men in dark coats, hats and sunglasses that only come out at night, and tell them that a site is good. This means, "This is a good site" versus "I don't like to see this." From here Google Panda take the intelligence of their quality rating panel and scale it using this new learning algorithm process. Are you following?
Here's how it goes down. The quality raters tell Google's visitor's what they like. They ask and answer questions such as, "Would you trust this site with your credit card? Would you trust this expert's information that this site gives about your financial advice? Do you think this site design is good?" That's it, all sorts of questions about a website's trustworthiness, credibility, quality, how much they would like to see it in the search results. Then they compare the difference with where it is indexing and ranking now.
The websites that people like more are put into one group and the ones that people like less are put into another group. Then they get real serious with their interrogation and start looking at tons of metrics. All these metrics, numbers, signals, all sorts of search signals that probably come from data metrics, which historically Google has not focused in on as heavily. What the new algorithm aims to do they use those in the process is to separate the wheat from the tares, finding the websites that web surfer's like more and like less. They then downgrade the ones they like less and upgrade the ones they like more. Bingo, you have the Panda update at its best.
