Changes in SEO Strategies After Google Panda Update

Google is one of the most innovative and powerful technology companies in the world. Google is synonymous with online search as it controls more 80 percent of internet search market. Online entrepreneurs around the world are aware of Google Panda, the software that Google uses to index and list different web-pages in its search results. Recently when there was an update to Google Panda, many websites around the world had to suffer and some even ended up losing 80 to 90 percent of their traffic.

People who used unfair and illegal SEO strategies, like using junk or duplicate content, SPAM content etc. had to suffer due to this new update to Panda. Illegal SEO strategies will no longer yield any results as Google will only index pages based on the popularity and originality of the content of the website. On the other hand, this update will help internet users around the world as they will be redirected to genuine sites where they can get the answers to their queries.

In order to survive this Google Panda update, people have to make changes to their SEO strategies and stop all illegal or unfair means of traffic generation or SEO. Here are a few ways through which people can make sure that their websites are not banned by Google Panda:

1) Give importance to quality over quantity - Do not just fill your website with junk content that will not be beneficial to the visitors. Instead, opt for high quality content which will be informational and will not be off topic. The readers should be attracted to your website because of the quality of the content, so that they will visit the site, again and again. Google also gives an option of rating the website and the websites with higher rating will get a higher rank in Google search results. Out of the all the SEO strategies, creating quality content is the most important one.

2) Avoid duplicate content - Google Panda will penalize and ban all websites that have duplicate and copied content and so, it is advisable that you do not include any duplicate content in your website. If you want to include anyone else's work, you must take their prior permission. Avoid plagiarism at all cost and always provide the sources for all the articles that do not belong to you.

3) Efficiently use keywords - the keyword density should be within 1 to 2 percent. Websites with extremely high keyword density will not be indexed by Google Panda.

Following the above mentioned SEO strategies will be helpful in maintaining the position of your website, after the recent Google Panda update.

Traffic Generation - How To Increase Traffic Using Free SEO Strategies

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most effective ways to drive targeted traffic to your website. Because millions of people use search engines every day looking for solutions to problems, making sure that your website is well optimized for the search engines can yield vast potential profits for you as an online marketer or business owner. However, optimizing your website could cost you thousands of dollars if you're not knowledgeable about it.

The good news is, you can find free information on SEO anywhere on the Internet. Not only that, but many search engine optimization strategies can be carried out for free or low-cost. Here are a couple of strategies that anyone can use to get more search engine traffic:

1. Exchanging Links:

One free/inexpensive SEO method that can bring you fast results is exchanging links or getting other web sites to link to yours. Use Google to search by keywords that a potential customer would search for when looking for a solution that your product or service offers (ie: if you own an extermination business, you could do a search for "how to get rid of mice"). Then make a note of what sites show up in the search results. Find out the Google Pagerank of these sites using a free online pagerank checker (Google it). Then contact the author or owner of the higher pagerank sites and suggest exchanging links to your site. If you really want to sweeten the deal, you could even offer something beyond just liking to them in return -- for example offering to write content for their site. It will be worth it in the end, because the more high pagerank sites link to yours, the higher your site's search engine rankings will rise and the more targeted visitors your site will get.

2. Keyword Rich Articles

Writing useful and keyword-rich articles is a great way to garner more visibility and traffic for your business. If writing comes naturally to you, or you just don't want to spend money, you can write these articles yourself. Otherwise, you can go to a site like E-Lance and hire a ghostwriter to create them for you. However you generate the articles, the goal is to submit them to article directories and get them published with a link back to your site in the About The Author box. Not only will this help with your search engine rankings due to more links to your site, but some of these article directories get a LOT of visitors...people just looking for solutions to problems that could be solved by your product or service. In addition, if your article is well written and truly useful, it does a wonderful job of "pre-selling" the reader on why they should visit your site or check out your product. In addition, if your articles are keyword rich, then they can show up in search results themselves and be found by people searching the web for information. Lastly, well-written articles can be syndicated by other sites looking for content and passed around the web for years, with no effort on your part beyond writing and submitting the article just once.

Low cost SEO is an evolving science. Every day, there are more options available for people who want improve their rankings in the search engines and make it easier for prospects to find their website. Hiring an expert is one way to approach things, but always remember that if you don't have a million dollar budget, you can still reap the enormous traffic generation benefits of SEO by including these two free strategies in your online marketing plan.
