SEO, the acronym for Search Engine Optimization, has two distinct areas. The first one is off-page factors or off-page optimization and the next is On-page factors or On-page optimization.
Link building belongs to Off-page factors. It plays an important role to get information on: link popularity, search visibility and page rank (PR).It is one of the important yardsticks of SEO devices in term of website relevance or authority on a subject. Increasing link popularity is not an easy task, rather tough enough. Generally, a website is considered as good web website which contains maximum numbers of back links pointing from authoritative websites. So here the link back to your blog won't count by Google's standards. It is very good practice to put always your URL.
